As you may be able to guess if you've followed earlier trips, today could be summarised as "Jan looked at a load of old temples". I was woken at 6.45 a.m. by an Alarm Call because my travelling alarm was in the suitcase which Emirates had kindly mislaid. The hotel served a very decent breakfast, my guide arrived and we set off for the short drive to Borobudur. It's supposed to be the... Source : Jan Ford's World (subscribe) |

Crab and tomato soup along with a crab sandwich were good but could have done with some aggressive seasoning to bring out the flavour of the crab. And some non-plastic bread for the sandwiches wouldn?t have gone amiss either. If you are a Trappist monk, or have a fetish for... Source : Around Britain with a Paunch (subscribe) Explore : Food |

The Ashmolean Museum in Oxford recently underwent a £60 million rebuild. The new museum has a much more open feel, and to top it all off they?ve added a restaurant in a glass box on the roof, so we had to visit. Finding the restaurant in the evening is an interesting exercise: during the day the access is through the magnificent facade at the front of the museum, but in the evening... Tips make great stories. In 2007, A waitress at a Pizza Hut restaurant in Indiana received a $10,000 tip, rumoured to be the largest tip ever. It may well be the largest tip given in a restaurant but, according to this interview on the Big Hospitality site, it pales compared to the £136,000 tipped by [...] Source : 5pm Blog (subscribe) |

... looking forward to our dinner date coming up very soon! My Valentine?s treat was dinner at Fraiche restaurant on the Wirral. Fraiche has a Michelin star and deservedly so! It is a gastronomic delight. The restaurant itself is very small ? They only take a maximum of 10 covers per evening. So if you go, don?t expect a wild evening.
